Juan Pablo’s professional practice is focused on providing legal consultancy related to the creation and development of strategies for the protection, maintenance, and enforcement of trademarks, inventions, trade secrets, copyright, and related rights, as well as in drafting entertainment, technology transfer and licensing, franchise, and art loan contracts. Furthermore, he provides consultancy the areas of privacy and data protection, domain dispute resolution, regulatory law, information technology and piracy.

He has experience in the protection of intellectual property assets and image rights, through administrative procedures, settlement proceedings, litigation in the administrative, civil, and criminal fields, and their appeals, and constitutional remedies (amparos) and motions of review against unconstitutional acts.

Has successfully represented to clients of several industries in obtaining the registration of intellectual property assets, their cancellation and invalidation, the declaration of infringement actions for the invasion to such intellectual rights, the seizure of merchandise, the granting of sanitary authorizations by COFEPRIS for pharmaceutical products for cannabis products through litigation, declaration of unconstitutionality of several administrative laws, obtaining the authorization for the use of geographical denominations, the declaration of fame or well-known trademarks, among others.

During 2018 and 2019, Juan Pablo studied the LLM program “Law and Technology”, at Tilburg University (“Netherlands”), acquiring deep knowledge regarding cybercrime, e-commerce, blockchain, smart contracts, privacy and data protection, artificial intelligence, and intellectual property topics
