Joseph Cohen

Practice Areas

Joe Cohen leads the firm’s Litigation Practice Group and focuses on handling the defense of catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases arising from allegations of products liability (including pharmaceuticals and medical devices), chemical and substance exposure, general negligence, and commercial litigation. Joe has successfully tried cases to verdict and engaged in extensive motion practice, including complex summary judgment issues and intricate challenges to experts. He has handled matters in over 35 states and in multiple counties throughout Texas.

Professional Memberships

Joe served on the Board of Directors of DRI and in various leadership roles for the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC), including currently serving as chair of the Drug, Device, and Biotech Committee and past chair of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee and past chair of the Membership Committee. In 2019, Joe received the DRI Sheryl J. Willert Pioneer Diversity Award, recognizing a DRI member in a law firm or corporation who has demonstrated that he or she embraces, celebrates and applies inclusion and participation of a diverse people whereby the legal profession, community and society is a better place in which to live and work.
