John R Hawkins

Practice Areas

John Hawkins has more than 30 years of experience in federal and state litigation and in arbitration of design and construction matters. He also counsels clients in litigation avoidance and prepares, reviews, and negotiates design, construction, EPC, and energy infrastructure contracts. John practiced architecture for ten years before attending law school. As an architect, his experience encompassed a broad range of commercial and institutional projects, including (at 3D/International, Inc.) high-rise office, laboratory, museum, and hospital projects.

John is a member of numerous organizations including, but not limited to: State Bar of Texas, Houston Bar Association, Texas Bar Foundation (Sustaining Life Fellow), Rice Design Alliance (Board Member), American Institute of Architects and Texas Society of Architects, and the Legal Counsel Forum of American Counsel of Engineering Companies.
