Provided by Jonathan Allcock
Commercial and chancery litigation and arbitration, with a particular focus on contractual claims; civil fraud; company, director and shareholder disputes; and mortgages and other banking litigation.
Jonathan appears most often in the Commercial Court and other divisions/lists in the Business & Property Courts, both as a sole advocate (often against silks) and as a junior; but he also has experience in the Court of Appeal and the Privy Council, as well as offshore Courts and specialist tribunals.
He has appeared both led and un-led in complex and lengthy High Court trials and has also advised and appeared on a wide range of interim applications, including applications for freezing and proprietary injunctions; committal orders; security for costs; orders for cross-examination; civil restraint orders; and disclosure orders. Details of notable and recent cases can be seen on the Maitland Chambers website.

Jonathan is able to stay on top of a huge range of factual matters, legal submissions and expert evidence. He knits them all together into strong written submissions.
Jonathan is very clever, very across the detail and a really good black-letter technician. He is able to deliver difficult messages with clarity.
