Jon Skladany leverages 14 years of experience as a senior adviser to Republicans at key committees in the US Congress to help clients navigate high-profile investigations and other congressional inquiries. Companies across industries benefit from his nuanced understanding of the congressional oversight process. Since joining Jenner & Block, House Republican leadership has also tapped Jon to assist high-profile select committee investigations. In 2024, Jon served as special counsel to Chairman Mike Kelly (R-PA) and Republicans on the Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump.
Prior to entering private practice, Jon specialized in oversight and investigations, including as Chief Counsel for Oversight to Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC) at the House Committee on Financial Services, and to Reps. Andy Barr (R-KY) and Tom Emmer (R-MN) in their roles as Republican leaders of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee. Jon advised Committee Republicans on high-profile investigations of the banking and fintech sectors and oversight of related regulatory agencies. From 2020-2022, Jon served as oversight counsel for Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) and Republicans on the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis.
Jon previously served for a decade in several roles at the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability—the House’s primary investigative committee—including as Republican Staff Director, Chief Policy Counsel, and Deputy General Counsel.
Most recently, Jon served as US Government Affairs and Senior Communications Officer for the International Monetary Fund (IMF), where he managed the IMF’s relationship with US government stakeholders, including the White House, Congress, and the Treasury Department.
