Joep Ottervanger, attorney at law, heads the Loyens & Loeff Investment Management Practice and has 20+ years’ experience in the Private Equity and PE Real Estate fund space.

Joep focuses on investment management structures and fund formation and is active both on the GP and LP side. He represents AIFMs, fund-of-funds and other asset managers on their alternative investments which may be structured as funds, managed accounts or similar ‘tailored’ investment structures. He also has broad experience on more complex IM transactions such as continuation funds, spin-outs and acquisitions of IM groups or teams (carve-outs). On the GP side Joep represents primarily Dutch and Luxembourg based managers active in a variety of asset classes including infrastructure, real estate, renewable energy and VC. On the LP side clients include the main Dutch pension funds, multi-family offices, banks and insurance companies.

He has practised several years abroad in amongst others the Loyens & Loeff offices in New York, Luxembourg and Singapore and is a frequent speaker on the topic of investment management and is active within the Dutch Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (NVP) and the European Association for Investors in Non-listed Real Estate (INREV).
