Experience
Jason Pang is a member of JT&N’s Management Committee. His practice focuses on intellectual property, commercial law and litigation, and all aspects of legal advice to the high-tech industry across the spectrum of corporate and litigation matters.
Widely acknowledged as one of the premier IP law experts in China, Mr. Pang has been instrumental in promoting IP legislation and IP-related judicial practice in China. He has extensive experience structuring integrated IP strategies for clients, and has an active practice advising clients on IP matters involving patents, technology contracts, trademarks, special packaging and decoration of well-known commodities, domains, commercial secrets, copyright, franchising and network IP. Mr. Pang has acted on behalf of clients in numerous landmark IP cases in China. He participated in the drafting process for the national science and technology laws, including the amendment of the PRC Intellectual Property Law, and has worked on the formulation of national PRC IP strategy.
In the high-tech area, Mr. Pang participated in the planning research for China’s national long-term strategy on science and technology development. As a partner at JT&N, Mr. Pang has presided over the transition of the firm’s IP practice from traditional fields to include new businesses, such as network IP, E-commerce, licensing trade, franchising and high and new technology, with clients concentrated in high and new technology enterprises. His clients include listed companies, multinational corporations, and growth-based enterprises and industries, including information technology, telecommunications, biogenetics, biological medicine, materials, electronics, software, multimedia and manufacturing. Mr. Pang assisted in drafting the Implementing Regulations for the PRC Technology Contract Law.
In the commercial law and litigation field, Mr. Pang serves as an arbitrator and mediator for the Beijing Arbitration Commission, and is an expert in the design of comprehensive litigation strategies. Mr. Pang has represented clients in many important commercial litigation cases involving disputes in connection with loan, guarantee, insurance, engineering, and import and export matters, and has acted as the chairman of the legal advisory groups. He has extensive experience in contract disposition and settlement solutions, negotiation, conclusion, performance and remedies for breach.
