Jason Burnett has represented individuals, corporations, and equity groups in complicated bankruptcies and related litigation for over three decades. With deep personal and professional ties to North Florida, he also serves as a managing shareholder of the GrayRobinson Jacksonville office. Known for his easeful and affable nature, Jason leads clients through financially vulnerable and tense situations, working to reduce variables, manage costs, and exceed expectations. A natural leader and collaborator, Jason is a well-regarded and active member of the Florida Bankruptcy Bar community and a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator.
Jason represents debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, trustees, committees, institutional lenders, and equity groups in all types of bankruptcy and insolvency matters, including Chapters 7, 11, and 13 filings, proceedings, and post-confirmation activities. His experience covers a diverse range of business types and sectors, with an emphasis on banking and real estate. Jason helps individuals unwind complicated portfolios, and his forensic work includes location, valuation, and liquidation of assets and other collateral. He also represents clients in investor fraud cases, including Ponzi schemes and receivership misconduct.
Driven by a lifelong love of the law and a deep-rooted commitment to helping others, Jason guides clients with a steady hand, succinctly conveying complex legal ideas and concepts to ensure they are informed, protected, and well-positioned to recoup maximum value. Taking a pragmatic and strategic approach to case management, Jason carefully evaluates the full scope of conditions before engaging the court and moving matters forward. He frequently partners with GrayRobinson colleagues in the corporate, real estate, intellectual property, litigation, and estate planning practice areas to bolster client teams in particularly multidimensional or entangled circumstances.
