Janine Lawton

Janine is a Senior Associate Solicitor in the employment team with over 13 years’ post qualification experience (admitted September 2010). Janine represents a number of businesses in all sectors, including various SMEs, charities, healthcare, care homes, educational establishments, and other law firms, defending Employment Tribunal claims. As part of her role, Janine also provides supervision and support to other members of the team.

As an experienced solicitor, Janine’s clients range from national charities to privately owned companies. During her career, Janine has acted in sensitive and high-profile complex cases. Janine prides herself on being approachable and responsive, providing pragmatic and clear advice in order to achieve the client’s aims, whether that be a commercial resolution, either via ACAS or Judicial Mediation, or defending the claim at a final hearing.

In 2023, Janine was involved in a number of high value claims, including a long running complex discrimination claim against a charity and voluntary regulator of language service professionals in which the Claimant is pursuing a claim of disability discrimination against the organisation as a Qualifications Body under section 53/54 of the Equality Act 2010 (something not previously determined).
