Jane specialises in the financial aspects of high value divorces and civil partnership dissolutions, complex disputes about residence, contact and other welfare issues concerning children, financial settlements for children of unmarried parents and disputes arising from the breakdown of cohabitation. Many of her cases have an international dimension.

Jane is widely recognised as a leading individual in family law by the legal directories in which she is described as "very experienced and very good with clients" and is recommended for her "perception and good judgement". Super Lawyers magazine ranked Jane in the Top 100 and the Top 50: Women London Super Lawyers.

She is also recognised by Best Lawyers International and appears on Citywealth's Power Women and Leaders' Lists (Honours). She has previously been shortlisted for the Citywealth Magic Circle Awards Woman of the Year Award.

Professional Memberships

A passionate campaigner for reform of the law relating to cohabitants, Jane was a member of the Law Commission’s Legal Advisory Group when it reported on the law in this area.

She is a member of Resolution’s Cohabitation Committee; is editor and co-author of the Resolution Guide to Good Practice in Cohabitation Cases and a co-author of Resolution’s Cohabitation Agreement Precedents. Along with other members of the committee, she is currently drafting precedents for the forthcoming publication ‘Separation Agreements for Cohabiting Couples’.

She chaired the Family Justice Council’s Children in Families Committee and was responsible for the “Everybody’s Business” report which led to a change in the law relating to child contact and domestic violence.

Jane has recently been invited to join a new Family Justice Council financial remedies working group, chaired by Mr Justice Peel, the High Court Judge Member of the Council which commences work in January 2022.

Former national Chair of Resolution, the country’s leading family law organisation.

Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL)

Appointed the first Private Law Solicitor Member of the Family Justice Council which advises the government on family law issues. This was a public appointment.
