Jamie is instructed in high-stakes commercial, employment, and regulatory disputes.
In commercial litigation, he is known for his expertise in business protection and conspiracy claims, heavy “team move” disputes, and matters involving breaches of directors’ and fiduciary duties.
In employment litigation, he is instructed by the most prominent blue-chip businesses in the world, and the most senior employees and directors.
In his regulatory practice, many of Jamie’s cases relate to tech, data, and privacy law. He is presently instructed by the Information Commissioner in the Clearview AI litigation. He is frequently sought out for advice on the Online Safety Act 2023.
Jamie is known for the strength of his advocacy, his strategic acumen, and his collegiate approach of rolling his sleeves up and working closely with solicitors and clients.
Publications
Jamie is an expert in legal issues relating to digital technology. His book Future Politics (Oxford, 2018) received the Estoril Global Issues Distinguished Book Prize and was an LSE, Prospect, and Evening Standard book of the year. Jamie’s latest book, The Digital Republic (Bloomsbury, 2022), was described by The Economist as ‘a wise manifesto for digital democracy’. His research was cited by Lord Sales JSC in Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, and the Law.
Jamie is the co-author of two chapters in International Employment Disputes (Eds. Oudkerk and Rogers, Sweet & Maxwell, 2019).
