James is joint head of Chambers’ Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence teams. He has been ranked as a leading junior for several years in both the main directories and is instructed equally by Claimants and Defendants alike. He prides himself on being ‘approachable’, ‘easy to deal with’, and ‘incredibly thorough’.
As an experienced advocate James is regularly brought into cases involving complex and high value matters, and enjoys being brought into the team early on to advise on strategy and tactics. He has considerable experience in the fields of: chronic pain, functional neurological disorder, severe psychiatric injury, brain injury, complex polytrauma, and employers’ liability matters. Indeed, James is often invited to both solicitors’ firms and insurers to talk about such topics.
Recent work includes instructions in several seven figure claims, including (for example): acting for an employee who was injured on a fishing vessel, on behalf of a Claimant suffering with lifelong functional cognitive disorder, and in a catastrophic brain injury case on behalf of a Defendant.
