Iara Conrado is one of BMA’s Dispute Resolution partners. She represents national and international clients in complex civil litigation, in Brazil and abroad, particularly in business disputes. She has notable experience in cases involving crisis management.
Iara has broad experience in mediation, commercial arbitration and lawsuits involving contractual, corporate, real estate, environmental and other matters, both in Brazil and as an adviser in international litigation. Her work stands out for her strategic approach at all stages of disputes, including the pre-litigation phase. She also has experience in inheritance and succession disputes.
Her clients include some of the largest national and international companies, doing business in various sectors of the economy, such as infrastructure, real estate, oil and gas, agribusiness, telecommunications, banking, mining, sports, shipbuilding, automotive, freight transport, pharmaceuticals and retail.
Iara has important academic experience that includes lecturing in civil procedure and dispute resolution: Substitute professor of Civil Procedure (Faculty of Law, PUC-Rio); Lecturer, Arbitration in Comparative Law (Specialization course in Commercial Arbitration and Consensual Methods of Dispute Resolution, PUC-Rio, 2018); Lecturer, Provisional and urgent relief prior to and during arbitral proceedings (Specialization Course in Arbitration, Brazilian Bar Association, Rio de Janeiro Section – OAB/RJ, 2014).
