Ian Morrison has extensive experience representing employers, employee benefit plans, and fiduciaries in a broad range of ERISA and employee benefits litigation. He has successfully handled numerous high-stakes ERISA class and multi-plaintiff actions for Fortune 500 companies, complex individual claims, as well as complex nationwide portfolios of litigation. Many of his ERISA cases have resulted in leading and often-cited court decisions. Ian has handled a wide range of ERISA matters in court and in arbitration, including representation of defendants at trial in certified ERISA class actions and on appeal in numerous courts of appeal. His experience covers virtually every type of ERISA litigation.
Ian is an active member of the ABA’s Employee Benefits Committee (EBC). A regular speaker and writer on ERISA Litigation issues, Ian is a Co-Chair of the Board of Senior Editors of the BNA treatise Employee Benefits Law. Ian is also a member of the board of directors of the Chicago Bar Foundation -- the largest private bar foundation in the United States and a leader in innovation in the legal profession and access to justice.
