Hugh heads up the specialist Professional Negligence team within Carson McDowell’s Litigation department. He has acted in the defence of professional indemnity claims for over 25 years and is very highly regarded in this jurisdiction due to his specialist knowledge in this area and breadth of experience. Hugh acts on behalf of a range of insurers and insured professionals including accountants, architects, engineers, insurance brokers, surveyors, and solicitors.
Hugh graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast and qualified as a Solicitor in 1983. He joined Carson McDowell in 2015 as Partner and Head of the firm’s Professional Indemnity team. Before that he was Partner in another leading Belfast firm for over 20 years.
