Henry Bankes-Jones

Henry’s practice covers the full range of professional indemnity work, including solicitors, accountants, doctors and associated medical professionals. Whilst clients include many large insurers, he is also instructed on behalf of individual claimants, most recently in claims involving litigation between Paul Baxendale Walker and his former clients. Cases range from the seminal decision of the Supreme Court in Barton v Wright Hassall, acting for the successful Respondent, to million pound High Court professional and clinical negligence claims. He is regularly instructed by the Bar Mutual Indemnity Fund on behalf of Barristers and Judges, and remains on the specialist panel for almost all the major professional indemnity insurers, including QBE, Royal Sun Alliance, Aviva, Zurich, Hiscox, and Catlin XL. He has more recently been instructed by the Welsh Government as junior Counsel for one of the main Welsh Health Boards in the COVID Inquiry chaired by Baroness Hallett KC, in which he was led by Andrew Post KC from Hailsham Chambers.
