Frédéric Paré is a partner and Head of the Montréal Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group and sits on both the Management Committee and Associates Committee of the Montréal office. He routinely acts as lead counsel for many public and private companies in large and complex cases. Frédéric is a highly effective trial lawyer with a proven track record. His practice covers the full range of commercial law, including shareholder disputes, securities, transactional litigation, product liability, as well as franchise law and special remedies such as injunctions. Frédéric has also extensive experience in the defense of class actions representing among others, financial institutions and car manufacturers and importers (product liability and consumer protections issues). He also regularly acts as a strategic as well as a legal advisor to a number of franchisors across a variety of sectors. Frédéric has been involved in more than a hundred disputes relating to franchise law and real estate law in particular, post-transaction disputes relating to purchase price adjustments, misrepresentations, breaches of warranty, and indemnification as well as shareholder dispute.
Frédéric’s skill, knowledge and prowess are regularly solicited at all phases of litigious matters, ranging from providing strategic advice to appearing before the courts. He regularly appears before civil courts (first instance and appellate) and administrative tribunals, as well as in complex commercial arbitration cases.
