Franco Aversa specialises in construction and infrastructure law. He advises clients on the negotiation and documentation of major construction and infrastructure projects across sectors including government, public private partnerships, rail, water, mining, telecommunications and renewables.

With qualifications in engineering and law, as well as in-house experience, Franco has significant expertise in major projects and front-end construction law as well as advising on contentious project administration and construction disputes and acting for sponsors/owners, debt financiers, equity participants, contractors and operators.

Work Highlights

Gamuda - Advising Gamuda on its successful bid with consortium partner Laing O'Rourke for a A$2.16 billion contract to deliver major tunnel and civils package for the Sydney Metro West Project. Advising and supporting Gamuda Australia on all of the contract documentation issued by Sydney Metro for the Project.

St George Community Housing - Advising St George Community Housing (SGCH) on its proposed bid, in consortium with Lendlease Development, on the circa $ 3 billion Waterloo Renewal Project. Advising SGCH on property, construction and regulatory aspects of its bid in relation to the Project.

Richard Crookes Constructions - Advising Richard Crookes Constructions (RCC) in relation to its involvement in the Stations, Systems, Trains, Operations and Maintenance (SSTOM) package PPP in relation to Western Sydney Airport. RCC is a major subcontractor to WeBuild and will be involved in constructing the stations packages.

Alstom - Advising Alstom in its participation as a Non-Owner Participant (NOP) in a consortium comprising John Holland and RATP Dev bidding for the multi-billion dollar Suburban Rail Loop Project in Victoria. The Suburban Rail Loop Project is a state significant build and is the largest infrastructure project in Victoria.

DT Infrastructure - Advising DT Infrastructure in relation to its bid to engineer and construct the multi-billion dollar Gold Coast Faster Rail Project.

Bouygues Construction - Advising Bouygues Construction in relation to its bid for the engineering, procurement, construction and operation and maintenance of the Kiamal 2 Solar Project.
