He has broad experience in antitrust proceedings relating to collusive behaviour or abuse of dominant position, and on merger control. He has been involved in major deals on the energy market from a regulatory perspective and with regard to competition issues.
He began his professional career at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo, in The Financial Service Department and in the Administrative Law, Regulatory and Competition Department. He is founding partner and head of the Competition area of practice at MVA Asociados.
Member of Madrid Bar Association, Spanish Competition Association, International Nuclear Law Association and AEDEN.
Author of several publications and papers within others in Competition and Energy fields. Eduardo Abril speaks regularly in postgraduate programs (Carlos III University, Spanish Energy Club, etc.).
Law Degree and Diploma in Business Administration from the Pontificia de Comillas University (ICADE, Madrid); Masters in Energy Law, (IE, Madrid); Certificate in Business Administration, (IE, Madrid); LLM in Business Law (Northwestern University School of Law Chicago). He speaks Spanish and English.
