Deirdre is a partner in the firm’s Antitrust, Competition and Trade Group. She is an award winning antitrust practitioner dealing with both contentious and non-contentious antitrust matters. She has considerable experience of appearing before the EC Commission, UK Competition and Markets Authority and other agencies worldwide. Deirdre has been involved in a wide range of economic sectors, particularly multi sided platforms, technology, financial services, consumer goods, energy and transport. She also has extensive experience in the liberalisation and regulation of these sectors under both EU and UK law. Deirdre is highly ranked as a Global Thought Leader or equivalent in all the legal directories and is a frequent speaker on antitrust issues and policy.
Career
Deirdre was made a partner in 1995 and became co-head of Freshfields’ global antitrust group from 2000-2006. She was then appointed as the chair of the Firm’s sector groups in 2008 and the firm’s first global client partner from 2009–2012.
