Ali is a partner in Freshfields’ dispute resolution practice in London. She has a wide-ranging practice based on managing both complex, large-scale litigation, as well as investigations in areas including fraud and bribery. Ali specialises in complex contractual disputes. This includes, in particular, disputes arising in a pre- and post- M&A context, as well as shareholder disputes arising (and following) from investigations and allegations of wrongdoing. Ali has advised recently on s.90A litigation including the Allianz and ors v G4S Ltd case, which made novel decisions in the area of shareholder disputes, including in respect of shareholder entitlement to privileged documents. Ali has also advised on contractual disputes arising from the Covid-19 pandemic, including the case of Travelport v WEX [2020] EWHC 2670, which is one of the leading English law cases on material adverse effect.
