Bea is a highly experienced competition litigator who heads up Freshfields’ London antitrust litigation team. Bea has extensive experience in defending clients from antitrust damages and other actions in the English courts and Competition Appeal Tribunal, including collective proceedings. She has acted in numerous damages claims arising from decisions of the European Commission and national regulators, including most recently co-ordinating AB Volvo’s defence to claims both in England and elsewhere arising from the European Commission’s decision in the Trucks investigation.
Bea also has a depth of experience in acting in antitrust and other regulatory investigations in the UK and EU, including advising on dawn raids and leniency applications. Her experience includes co-ordinating the defence of antitrust investigations and litigation across multiple jurisdictions.
Career
Bea joined Freshfields in 2002 and has been a partner since 2007. As well as leading Freshfields’ London antitrust litigation team, she co-chairs the firm’s Global Cartels Skills Group. Bea is qualified in England & Wales and is also admitted to practice before the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
