David Cox, a partner in the insurance practice, represents corporate policyholders in the preservation, protection, and recovery of insurance assets. He has represented Fortune 500 companies in a variety of complex insurance recovery matters, including coverage disputes involving toxic torts and environmental property damage. He has also assisted clients in drafting specialty market insurance policies, particularly in connection with future environmental and toxic tort exposures. He has written and spoken on insurance coverage–related issues in a variety of forums.
He maintains an active pro bono practice. He was part of a team of Morgan Lewis attorneys that partnered with public interest law firms to obtain a settlement with Los Angeles County in Guillory, et al. v. County of Los Angeles, a class action suit that has led to major reforms to the county’s General Relief program, a key program supporting those in extreme need.
