Daniel is an experienced international advocate based in Japan, whose practice focuses on acting as lead counsel and advocate in high-stakes international arbitration proceedings. He has acted in cases under a wide range of rules, including ICSID, ICC, SIAC, JCAA, and UNCITRAL. He sits as arbitrator, and regularly lectures and publishes on topics relating to international dispute resolution.
Career
After receiving his J.D. from Stanford Law School, Daniel began as a US litigator with Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York. He then relocated to Tokyo and was a member of the international arbitration group at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer for a number of years, before joining Mori Hamada & Matsumoto. In addition to his work as counsel, he enjoys an appointment as Lecturer at Kobe University Faculty of Law.
