Cynthia is a seasoned M&A, corporate and entertainment attorney who negotiates deals and solves problems. Her practice is centered on mergers and acquisitions and corporate and entertainment transactions, primarily in the music space.
Clients rely on her for strategic and legal guidance on transactions and contracts. Her advice is informed by years of work in corporate law and detailed knowledge of the music industry.
Her experience in the music industry includes working in-house at a major record label. She leverages that perspective to provide her clients with proactive advice in their deals to enable them to realize maximum value.
Transactional and Financing
Cynthia advises private equity funds, investors, music publishing companies, record labels, merchandising companies, songwriters and artists in the sale, acquisition, and financing of music catalogs, assets and companies, negotiating stock and asset purchase agreements and conducting in-depth due diligence.
Startups and Restructuring
She also counsels music technology startups on fundraising; represents music labels and publishers in restructuring efforts; and helps clients structure and negotiate employment and independent contractor agreements.
Music Creation, Production and Licensing
She represents number of songwriters, composers, recording artists, and producers, as well and negotiates a full range of music agreements, including: recording, producing, licensing, distribution, publishing, composing, merchandising, management and live performance agreements.
General Corporate and Other Legal Needs
In addition to her work in the music industry, Cynthia also advises a range of businesses and executives in other creative industries on a variety of corporate matters, collaborating with Fox attorneys in tax, labor and employment, and other disciplines to address their broader legal needs.
She handles a full range of corporate and intellectual property law matters, including: entity formation, corporate restructuring, debt and equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, employment and executive compensation issues, trademark and copyright registration and disputes.
Cynthia was elected in 2026 to serve as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
