Christie Gibson

Christie Gibson is a leading land use planning lawyer, offering private and public sector clients distinct and wide-ranging perspectives to a variety of sophisticated land use planning matters and high-stakes disputes. Christie has extensive experience handling redevelopment applications, including evaluating potential sites, securing approvals and negotiating post-approval agreements, from both sides of the table. Additionally, she is well-versed in legislative and policy reform and is frequently consulted by various branches of government and asked to speak at industry events and university courses for her strategic insight and collaborative approach. Highly skilled in dispute resolution, Christie has a proven track record of navigating complex conflicts and appeals related to municipally-initiated instruments, parkland dedication, heritage and environmental concerns, property assessments, and affordable housing and inclusionary zoning policies. She regularly advocates before the Ontario Land Tribunal and Ontario Courts. Christie is past Chair of the OBA Municipal Law Section, has also served on the steering committee of the Cambridge Forum on Land Use Planning (3rd Generation, and Emerging Leaders), and has been heavily involved in the leadership of various committees at Urban Land Institute.
