Charlotte has a wide-ranging commercial practice encompassing all aspects of complex commercial disputes, with particular specialisms in banking and financial disputes, financial services regulation and law, consumer credit regulation, professional negligence (including fraud) and insurance. Her recent reported cases include: Mortgage Express plc v Countrywide Surveyors Limited [2016] EWHC 224 (Ch) (fraud claim against valuer) and [2016] PNLR 35 (ability to recover compound interest as damages); Townson v FCE Bank plc (t/a Ford Credit) [2016] ECC 30 (unfair relationship claim, whether āon behalf ofā the creditor and whether a linked transaction); RBS v McCarthy [2015] EWHC 3626 (inducing breach of contract claim); and HSBC Life (UK) Ltd, In the Matter of Reassure Ltd [2015] EWHC 2664 (Ch) (Part VII business transfer involving a pensions business). Other instructions include: acting on behalf of retail banks in interest rate hedging product mis-selling claims, including allegations of LIBOR, Suremime claims, and limitation issues; advising clients on regulatory perimeter issues including contracts of insurance, collective investment schemes, and regulated mortgage contracts; advising in relation to Part VII ring-fencing transfer schemes; acting in a professional negligence claim against accountants; and advising in a trust dispute.
