Ms. Yang Chao is a partner in the Beijing office of Haiwen & Parnters. Ms. Yang has nearly 20 years of experience in the area of dispute resolution (commercial arbitration and litigation), specializing in complex commercial contract disputes, including investment and financing, capital management, corporate, international trade, Sino-foreign joint ventures, etc. Ms. Yang has been ranked as a recommended lawyer by Chambers Global and Asia-Pacific in the area of Dispute Resolution for four consecutive years (2019-2022), and is one of the few lawyers to be featured in both the "Dispute Resolution (Arbitration)" and "Dispute Resolution (Litigation)" sections. Yang Chao is currently arbitrator of several arbitration institutions, including China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration, Hainan Court of International Arbitration and other institutions.
Career
Ms. Yang worked with Haiwen & Partners from 2003 to 2010. Before returned to Haiwen & Partners in September 2022, Ms. Yang has worked as partners in several reputable law firms in Beijing.
Work Highlights
Ms. Yang has represented clients in over hundreds of arbitration and litigation cases in which the types of disputes cover trade, foreign investment, investment and financing, equity investment, bonds, assets management and insurance. She represents clients before various dispute resolution institutions and courts including the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission ("CIETAC"), the Beijing Arbitration Commission ("BAC"), the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration ("SCIA"), the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre ("HKIAC"), the Supreme Court of PRC, and the People's courts at various levels. Ms. Yang has represented mainly large state-owned enterprises and large private enterprises, multinational corporations, private investment funds, major state-owned and joint-stock banks, and etc.
