Career
Cécile MARTIN is the Managing Partner of OGLETREE DEAKINS in France.
Cécile has been a lawyer since 2002. She joined OGLETREE DEAKINS as a Partner in 2018, 1 year after its creation in Paris.
Previously, she practiced for 11 years at PROSKAUER ROSE.
For more than 20 years, she has developed extensive experience in the social management of restructurings, both advisory and litigation, the management of exit of senior executives, the implementation of compensation policies (including for material risk takers), and in banks discrimination and harassment litigation.
She also has recognized industry expertise in all aspects of data protection and compliance, particularly in the management of employees’ personal data, cyber-surveillance, ethical alerts, and the implementation of new technologies (AI).
Having started her career at the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL), Cécile MARTIN is closely involved with major companies in their efforts to comply with all legislation relating to personal data and its social aspects. She was a member of the IAPP DPO France Skills Certification Committee, a former KnowledgeNet Chapter France and was a member of the European Advisory Committee of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). She is a regular contributor to French and international legal journals and has been appointed by AFNOR (French Standardisation Association) to represent France at the ISO regarding the elaboration of a new standard/norm regarding management of HR personal data.
Cécile MARTIN is widely recognised as one of France’s leading employment lawyers in both national rankings and international legal guides: Chambers France, Legal 500 EMEA and Legal 500 Paris (as “Leading Partner”) and Best Lawyers France.
In 2025, she has been featured in the second edition of IEL Women Leaders by International Employment Lawyer, a global thought-leadership survey highlighting prominent female partners in employment law worldwide.
Cécile is a regular contributor of employment law articles published in the international guide Chambers Employment Practice.
She co-authored the article "An introduction to Employment" in Chambers Employment Practice In-Depth Overview for France from 2023 to 2026.
