Career
Fabricio Sánchez is a distinguished attorney with a strong focus on Competition Law, Intellectual Property, Consumer Protection, and Data Protection. Prior to becoming a Partner, he served as a Senior Associate in the same practice area at Benites, Vargas & Ugaz Abogados. His extensive experience, coupled with his ability to attract and retain key clients, played a pivotal role in building and expanding the firm's Competition and Intellectual Property Practice. He currently serves as a Partner and Head of the Competition and Intellectual Property Practice at Benites, Vargas & Ugaz Abogados, a role he has held since 2021. Before this role, he led the Competition and Intellectual Property department at Muñiz, Olaya, Melendez, Castro, Ono & Herrera in Arequipa from 2016 to 2018. His experience includes working as a Specialist at Indecopi, within the Consumer Protection Commission No.1 and the Free Competition Commission (2015-2016). He also gained significant expertise as an Associate at Muñiz, Olaya, Melendez, Castro, Ono & Herrera in Arequipa from 2014 to 2015.
Fabricio holds a Law degree from the San Pablo Catholic University (2014) and a Master's degree in Patents, Trademarks, and Intellectual Property from OBS Business School and the University of Barcelona (2020). He is a member of the Arequipa Bar Association.
Also, recently, Fabricio was invited by the World Bank, as an expert, to participate with their comments in the Business Ready (B-Ready), wich gathered data from 54 countries as part of a pilot study, including Peru.
Publications
His contributions to legal scholarship are significant, encompassing numerous publications on a broad range of subjects, including antitrust, unfair competition, consumer law, intellectual property, and data protection law. Among his most notable works is the article titled "Developments in the Protection of Personal Data in Cases of Credit Portfolio Transfer to Unsanctioned Entities," published in Advocatus in 2021.
