Practice Areas
Britt Mosman is a partner and Co-Chair of the Global Trade & Investment Practice Group in Washington, D.C., where she is recognized for her deep expertise in economic sanctions, CFIUS national security reviews, and broader international trade compliance and enforcement matters. She is a trusted advisor to global financial institutions, leading multinational corporations, and emerging technology companies navigating the increasingly complex intersection of national security and international commerce.
Britt's sanctions practice is particularly distinguished by her prior government service as an Attorney-Advisor in the Office of the Chief Counsel (Foreign Assets Control) at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where she advised the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) on the design, interpretation, and enforcement of economic sanctions programs. In that capacity, she served as a lead attorney on several of the government's highest-priority and most complex sanctions regimes, including those targeting Iran, Russia/Ukraine, Cuba, Syria, election interference, and malicious cyber activities. On the CFIUS front, Britt regularly represents acquirers, targets, and investors in mandatory and voluntary filings before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, counseling on transaction structuring, mitigation negotiations, and national security risk assessments. Her integrated understanding of both the international trade and foreign investment review regimes allows her to provide holistic counsel on transactions that implicate multiple national security authorities simultaneously.
Britt's practice also encompasses Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering compliance, export controls, and digital asset regulatory matters. As part of the Willkie Digital Works team, she advises cryptocurrency and fintech participants on compliance with BSA/AML obligations and sanctions requirements, an area of growing regulatory scrutiny in which her background provides a significant strategic advantage.
