Bijal has an invaluable and rich experience in handling various types of litigations. The scope of his litigation expertise covers a wide range including corporate and commercial, intellectual property rights, arbitrations, writs under the Constitution of India, Admiralty.
He also covers non litigation and transaction business covering mergers, acquisitions and take- overs, joint ventures, PE investments, legal audits and due diligence exercises, conveyancing and real estate transaction, and drafting of commercial agreements.
Bijal has been practising before the Gujarat High Court, and also appears before the Supreme Court of India and various High Courts.
In the pharmaceutical space, Bijal has handled several litigations pertaining to the Drug Price Control Orders (DPCO), before the Supreme Court of India and various High Courts. He has also handled several intellectual property rights disputes, pertaining to patents, trademarks and copyrights, as also bio-similars, for several pharmaceuticals companies. Bijal continues to advise and assist on mergers, takeovers and formation of joint ventures.
Bijal joined JSA in 2015. He was previously a Partner with Singhi & Co. and earlier worked as a sole proprietor of Chhatrapati & Associates.
