With more than 30 years of professional experience, Beata Balas Noszczyk is widely regarded as one of the most distinguished lawyers in Poland and a leading authority in the insurance and financial services sectors. Throughout her career, she has advised on and overseen some of the most complex and high value projects and transactions in the Polish market, particularly in the areas of insurance, banking, finance, and financial institutions regulation.
Beata is consistently recognised for her exceptional expertise and market leading position. Since 2008, she has been awarded the annual title of “Leading Insurance Lawyer” by the Rzeczpospolita daily in its prestigious Ranking of Law Firms. Her long-standing contribution to the legal profession has been acknowledged by numerous accolades and distinctions in Poland and internationally.
In 2018, she was honoured with the title of “Prawnik 30 lecia” (Lawyer of the 30 Years Anniversary), awarded jointly by the Polish Association of Legal Employers and the Rzeczpospolita daily to recognise lawyers who have made a pivotal impact on the development of the Polish legal services market after 1989. She is also the recipient of the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, conferred by the President of the Republic of Poland for her outstanding contribution to the development of the Polish insurance market.

A respected thought leader and regulatory expert, Beata played a key role in shaping modern insurance legislation in Poland. She co authored the Insurance Activity Act and served as an expert to the Polish parliamentary subcommittee responsible for its amendment. She has also represented Poland on insurance regulatory matters before the OECD and the European Union.
Beata is the author of numerous specialist publications on Polish insurance law and a frequent speaker at international conferences focused on financial institutions, insurance, and pension funds. Her academic, legislative, and thought leadership contributions make her one of the most influential and recognisable figures in the Polish financial services legal landscape.
Beata Balas Noszczyk holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Warsaw (1990) and qualified as a legal advisor in 1994.
She is a Senior Partner at the international law firm DWF, which she joined in January 2025. Prior to that, she spent over 20 years as the Managing Partner of the Warsaw office of Hogan Lovells and as the Head of the Financial Institutions practice.
Before transitioning into private practice at leading international law firms, she held senior leadership positions at the Ministry of Finance, first as Deputy Director of the Banking System and Financial Institutions Department and subsequently as Director of the Insurance Department. In these roles, she oversaw insurance sector supervision, licensing of insurance activities, the development and drafting of key legislative acts in the insurance field, as well as the supervision of state owned financial institutions.
Before joining DWF / Hogan Lovells, she was a Partner at another international law firm, where she led the insurance and pension funds practice.
