Angharad Hughes

Angharad has developed great expertise in a wide range of clinical negligence claims and now focuses on cases involving serious injuries to patients, including brain damage and spinal injuries.

In 2020 Angharad obtained compensation totalling over £18 million for a child with severe physical disabilities caused by mismanagement of newborn jaundice, which led to extensive brain damage. She has previously settled cerebral palsy cases for sums exceeding £10 million. Angharad has also successfully settled a large number of cauda equina syndrome claims, with compensation settlements for her clients including £1.75 million and £1.5 million. Angharad has experience in a wide range of other serious injury claims and in 2019 obtained £2.35 million for a woman who required a below the knee leg amputation after appalling failures in diagnosis and treatment of cellulitis.

Angharad has also more recently settled a number of spinal injury cases, one settling for £1.7m in June 2023. Angharad also resolved a complex case relating to birth injury due to failure to manage maternal sepsis in the sum of approximately £10million.
