Angela Allen

Angela Allen’s rich history in complex bankruptcy litigation and corporate restructuring enables her to help clients evaluate legal options related to financially distressed situations. She regularly positions these clients for the best deal or result possible, keeping their long-term goals and objectives in mind.

Angela focuses on all aspects of financial distress, from protecting against counterparty risk to litigating in court. She helps corporate clients navigate issues related to financial distress and counterparty risk and guides trustee in investigations and litigation arising out of fraudulent enterprises. Angela has recovered millions of dollars in settlements and wins in bankruptcy-related litigation.

Angela’s clients range from manufacturers dealing with distressed suppliers, to landlords and tenants negotiating distressed leases, to opportunistic purchasers of assets in 363 sales. In addition, she has experience addressing restructuring and liquidation issues arising in the financial services sector.

Angela has an active pro bono practice and has represented clients with respect to bankruptcy dischargeability and out-of-court debt restructurings. She also focuses her pro bono efforts beyond bankruptcy to help military and military family members. Angela currently serves as director of the Illinois chapter of the Military Spouse JD Network and successfully lobbied the Illinois Supreme Court and the Michigan Legislature to adopt licensure accommodations for out-of-state attorneys whose spouses are serving in the military, and assisted with similar efforts in California.
