Andrew's principal areas of expertise are domestic and international civil engineering, building, shipbuilding and ship repair disputes, and energy law. He also covers professional negligence and general commercial law. Andrew has extensive experience of arbitration conducted under the ICC, LCIA, HKIAC, CIETAC, SIAC, SCMA, ADCCAC, DIAC, LMAA and UNCITRAL rules. Experienced in conducting arbitrations in numerous jurisdictions including Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, UAE, Qatar, USA, Caribbean, Switzerland, Belgium, Oman and Nigeria. Significant cases include: Harman CFM Facades v Corporate Officer of the House of Commons (UK procurement law), ABB Lummus Global Ltd v Keppel Fels Ltd (arbitration, curial law), BICC v Parkman (jurisdiction under Civil Liability Contribution Act), Channel Tunnel Group Ltd v Balfour Beatty Construction (jurisdiction of English Court to grant injunctions in foreign arbitration), Murphy v Brentwood (negligence) and Simon Carves Ltd v Ensus UK Ltd (on demand performance bonds).
