Andrea Silvestri

Andrea Silvestri has been involved in consulting and litigation on a variety of important tax issues for more than 30 years.

He assists some of the most important Italian and international groups, as well as private equity funds, with tax and litigation advice, often dealing with issues of particular relevance for their complexity and value. In the area of consulting he deals, inter alia, with corporate and value added tax issues, international taxation, extraordinary transactions and private client matters. He also assists corporate groups in the phase of accessing the collaborative compliance regime and its subsequent management.

In tax litigation, he assists clients both in the audit and settlement phase of proceedings with tax authorities and in disputes before the Tax Courts, the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court.

He set up and developed the tax department of a major Italian law firm, where he was a partner for twenty years, and joined Legance in 2023 with a team of 18 tax professionals.

He graduated in Economics at the Università “LUISS – Guido Carli” in 1991 and completed his studies with a degree in Law (1995) and a PhD in Tax Law (1998) at the La Sapienza University. In 2001 he completed a “Master of Laws” (LL.M.) in Taxation at Boston University and in 2017 he obtained the “Certification in Corporate Governance” at Insead in Fontainebleau. He is admitted to the Bar, a qualified Chartered Accountant and is a member of the Register of Auditors.

Andrea is an Adjunct Professor at the Università “LUISS – Guido Carli” in Rome, where he teaches Strategic Tax Management, he is the author of numerous publications in Italian and international tax journals, as well as in the national press. He is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.

He is author of "Nuovo Fisco, Nuova Europa. Lo scenario fiscale in un mondo meno globale" (2023) and “Il fisco che vorrei. Una nuova politica fiscale per far ripartire l'Italia" (2018), both published by Franco Angeli.

Previously he was a Partner in BonelliErede (2003 - 2023). Before he was a Senior Manager specialised in International Taxation, in Deloitte & Touche, Boston, U.S.A. (2001 - 2003), and Associate in Tremonti e Associati (1991 - 2000).

Member of the Milan Bar (Italy) 1998, Member of the Register of Auditors (1996), Member of the Rome Order of Chartered Accountant (1992).

He is the author of several articles published in Italian and International tax reviews and he is a frequent speaker in tax seminars and conferences.
