Alexander Glos is a partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in Frankfurt and is a member of the practice group Global Transactions. His practice covers the entire spectrum of banking and capital markets law with a focus on banking supervisory law and advising on NPL transactions. In the course of his career he completed a six-month secondment at Deutsche Bank AG.
He advises banks and other financial service providers as well as unregulated companies on all aspects of financial supervisory law.
In this context he works on M&A transactions and loan portfolio transactions as well as restructurings and reorganizations in the FIG sector. He has particular expertise in Banking Union matters (Single Supervisory Mechanism and Single Resolution Mechanism). Alexander has frequent dealings with various regulators such as the European Central Bank and the German BaFin.
Alexander Glos regularly lectures and publishes articles on banking supervisory law topics and is the editor of a handbook on banking supervisory law.
Alexander joined Freshfields in 2003 and has been a partner since 2009. Since 2019 he is also Co-Head of Financial Institutions Group.
