Career
Mr. Escobar has extensive experience representing clients in investment treaty and related disputes, in other areas of public international law and in international commercial disputes. He has handled numerous claims of expropriation and abusive regulation in various industries, including power, oil & gas, telecommunications, and public concessions and procurement. His matters typically involve concurrent jurisdictions and treaty obligations.
Mr. Escobar serves as arbitrator, including in ICSID, ICC, SCC and UNCITRAL Rules proceedings. He is a member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration and a member of the World Bank Sanctions Board.
Mr. Escobar works bilingually in English and Spanish.
