Career

Alejandro co-heads Galicia’s Infrastructure and Projects practices. He focuses on infrastructure and project finance transactions with his expertise extending to virtually all areas of infrastructure development, including roads, bridges and tunnels, public transport systems, airports, ports, water treatment plants, water supply systems, prisons, hospitals, and other essential facilities, for the development of economic activity.

Clients value Alejandro’s ability to take the lead and proactively identify the most relevant aspects of a project. He is known for using a sharp, business-oriented mindset to work hand in hand with his clients.

Alejandro has advised the entire spectrum of market participants from federal and state government entities (including the agencies that promote these projects) to developers, construction companies, investors and financial institutions. His practice covers the development and financing of long-term infrastructure projects under different legal schemes, including concessions, public works, public-private partnerships, and other legal and contractual arrangements commonly used for these purposes.

He has been involved in several of Mexico’s most relevant social infrastructure projects, such as Mexico City Airport’s Terminal 2, 250 km LPG pipeline from Tuxpan to Atotonilco, Monterrey-Saltillo Highway, Perote-Xalapa Highway, Libramiento de Irapuato Highway, Río de los Remedios-Venta de Carpio (Gran Canal) Highway, the concessions/services agreement for Chiapas’ Tapachula-Ciudad Guzmán toll road, and the financing of Guadalajara-Colima toll road’s maintenance and rehabilitation.

He holds a Law Degree from Universidad Latinoamericana. Before joining Galicia, he worked at Santamarina y Steta. He also worked as a foreign associate at Morgan Lewis & Bockius in New York.
