Based in Tokyo, partner Aled Davies is a member of Milbank’s highly regarded Global Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance Group. Aled has more than 25 years of experience advising key stakeholders, including sponsors, lenders and export credit agencies, on the development and financing of, and acquisition of interests in, large-scale infrastructure and energy projects throughout the world, including major liquefied natural gas (LNG), refinery, power and mining projects. Notable projects on which Aled has advised include Ichthys LNG, the Petronas/Aramco-sponsored RAPID project in Malaysia, the development of an LNG project in Papua New Guinea and the financing of a transmission project in Abu Dhabi in addition to a number of conventional and renewable power projects across Southeast Asia, the Middle East and elsewhere. Aled is known as a solutions-driven lawyer and is regularly sought out for the depth of his experience, sharp drafting and practical and innovative solutions to complex legal issues. He is a regularly published author and conference speaker in the project and energy space.
