Alastair specialises in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital, group reorganisations, joint ventures, and board-level advice on corporate governance and company law compliance. His client base ranges from ambitious SMEs to global corporates and international law firms.
Regularly praised for his commercial acumen, Alastair focuses on understanding his clients’ businesses and ensuring transactions are delivered in line with clients’ core strategies and goals.
Alastair trained at and qualified into the corporate department at Linklaters where he spent the first six years of his career. Prior to joining Foot Anstey, Alastair spent 13 years at a leading all-island law firm, where his positions included heading up the Belfast office corporate department.

• Advised Liberty Mutual on the sale of Hughes Insurance to Markerstudy Group by way of auction process
• Acted for Bidvest Noonan on the acquisition of the Barhall Group
• Advised the Shareholders of Cartoncare on the packaging group divestment to Van Genechten Packaging
• Advised Business Growth Fund on its investment into Woodland Group and the subsequent acquisition of JTC Furniture.
