Alan Barr

Alan is Head of Personal Tax Planning and one of Scotland's most respected private client and tax practitioners. Based in Edinburgh, he advises a broad range of clients on all aspects of personal and business tax, including estate planning, capital taxes, and land and buildings transaction tax. As co-author of Drafting Wills in Scotland, the leading text on wills in the jurisdiction, Alan has contributed extensively to key publications and is a sought-after speaker at major professional seminars. He has served on the Law Society of Scotland's Tax Law Committee and chairs its Trust and Succession Committee.
