Practice Areas
Band 2 Adriana has more than twenty years of experience in customs and foreign trade. She joined Baker McKenzie in 2001, was named a National Partner in 2005 and a Senior Partner in 2018. Adriana has previous experience as Legal Director of rules of origin, customs procedures and safeguards at the Ministry of Economy, where she participated in the negotiation of various free trade agreements ("FTAs") and in the first dispute settlement cases that Mexico initiated against the United States, under NAFTA.
Adriana's main areas of practice are customs and foreign trade matters, including rules of origin, verifications of origin and FTA-related issues, tariff classification, customs valuation, maquila (IMMEX) and import and export promotion programs, non-tariff import regulations, customs audits, consumer protection and other regulatory and commercial matters.
