Adam Maerov leads the Alberta restructuring team from McMillan LLP’s Calgary Office. Adam is driven by his commitment to developing practical, tailored strategies and solutions to his clients’ most complex business problems. Adam's practice includes special situations, distressed acquisitions, workouts, reorganizations, receiverships and security enforcement. Representative transactions include significant domestic and cross-border restructuring matters in the energy and technology and life sciences sectors and other industries across Canada. In 2018, Adam lead the McMillan team that intervened on behalf of the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Practitioners in the Redwater Energy appeal before the Supreme Court of Canada. Adam is a leader in the American Bar Association Business Bankruptcy Committee where he is the International Coordinating Committee Director and a Co-Chair of the International Bankruptcy Subcommittee. Adam is the recipient of the 2018 Kathryn R. Heidt Memorial Award presented by the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association. In 2019 Adam was invited to join the Insolvency Institute of Canada, Canada's premiere private sector insolvency organization.
