■Successfully defended a prominent group of physicians against claims of tortious interference, unfair competition, and defamation brought against it by a New Jersey specialty hospital. Secured dismissal of all claims through dispositive motion practice
■Obtained a nearly $25 million judgment in an oppressed minority shareholder litigation brought against the client’s father and twin brother. Discovered fraudulent transfers by defendants, resulting in the forfeiture of real property worth millions of dollars, and secured the appointment of a special fiscal agent to oversee the company’s finances
■Successfully represented one of the largest commercial real estate owners in New Jersey in a land use and redevelopment dispute with a municipality that involved a number of proceedings, including a prerogative writs action and a Section 1983 litigation. Settlement resulted in a full vindication of clients’ rights
■Represented New Jersey’s second largest newspaper in a landmark Open Public Records Act litigation concerning a deadly police shooting that resulted in the disclosure of the names of police officers involved, use of force reports, and dash cam videos. The New York Times wrote an editorial praising the Supreme Court of New Jersey’s decision in the case
■Retained as appellate counsel by one of the country’s largest insurance companies to assist with a Petition for Certification to the Supreme Court of New Jersey in a case involving insurance fraud. The Supreme Court granted the client’s petition and reversed the Appellate Division’s decision, a significant victory for the firm’s client
■Retained as appellate counsel by defendant school in a case involving a student fatal amusement park accident during a class trip. Successfully moved before the Supreme Court of New Jersey for leave to file an interlocutory appeal and obtained a reversal of the trial court’s ruling denying client’s motion for summary judgment
■Represented one of the world’s largest banks in a litigation arising from a client’s failure to pay a multi-million-dollar investment banking fee. Settled following motion practice that resulted in the dismissal of adversary’s counterclaims and affirmative defenses
■Representing foreign bank in federal litigation brought against it by former temporary staffing vendor that has asserted claims of tortious interference, defamation, and violation of bank privacy laws
■Representing trustee of liquidating trust created by bankruptcy court to pursue fraudulent transfer and alter ego liability claims against former corporate parents that stripped subsidiary of approximately $3 billion of assets, leaving it insolvent and unable to meet is substantial environmental liabilities. Serving as appellate counsel in appeal concerning liability for cleanup costs related to environmental contamination of the Passaic River

White-Collar Crime, Criminal Defense & Governmental & Internal Investigations:

■Represented the former Chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, in connection with charges that he misused his public position to persuade United Airlines to reinstate a previously discontinued flight to South Carolina for personal convenience
■Represented the Mayor of Passaic, New Jersey, in a corruption case brought by the US Attorney’s Office and the FBI
■Obtained a full acquittal of a client charged with aggravated manslaughter and death by auto following a fatal, high-speed collision inside the Lincoln Tunnel. Three-week jury trial involved a full defense, including testimony by the firm’s client and expert medical and engineering testimony
■Retained as appellate counsel on behalf of a prominent physician convicted of two charges. Obtained a reversal of client’s convictions by demonstrating that the trial court improperly admitted damaging hearsay testimony and fresh complaint testimony by the alleged victim
■Argued Fourth Amendment privacy issue before the Third Circuit Court of Appeals relating to failure of the government to obtain a search warrant to obtain cell site location information, on behalf of an Orthodox Jewish rabbi convicted of conspiracy to kidnap husbands who would not give a religious divorce to their wives ■Obtained a probationary sentence for Grammy winning entertainer who failed to file federal tax returns for approximately five years in case brought by the US Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey and the IRS
■Representation of former owner of mental health clinics in False Claims Act case brought by the federal government in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania
■Represented the New Jersey General Assembly—the lower house of the New Jersey Legislature—in connection with a joint legislative committee’s investigation into the Governor-elect’s response to sexual assault allegation against a senior campaign aide who later became chief of staff of an independent authority. Co-authored report concluding that the administration mishandled the matter and containing recommended changes to law and policy
