How do you reach out to referees?
Initial outreach is by email. We try to set up a time to speak over the phone or provide a survey for the referee to complete. If we haven’t heard back from the referee in question, we may follow up with a phone call or email, although this is wholly dependent on the researcher’s schedule and the progress of the research.
