Main Areas of Practice:

Capital Markets:
The partners and associates of the firm represent clients in debt and equity issuances, and placement agents involved in securities distribution. Attorneys and partners have played a prominent role in transactions, including complex issuances of debt securities, stock and asset backed securities. Ried Fabres also regularly advises major players in local and foreign financial markets, assisting them with their regulatory needs, administrative proceedings with capital markets regulators and legal defence in stock exchange, derivatives and capital market litigation.

Experience in securitisation matters includes placements of over 40 securitised debt securities. On the local bond market, the firm’s attorneys have been in charge of the legal aspects of several bond issuances and placements from private companies, public entities, and banks, and have participated in the issuance of numerous bonds on international markets.

Derivatives & Other Financial Contracts:
Ried Fabres’ attorneys have vast experience negotiating and structuring local and foreign derivatives contracts and securities repurchase agreements. Similarly, the firm has in-depth knowledge of recent regulation applicable to derivatives and repurchase agreements, both local and foreign, specifically regarding bankruptcy law, netting and the implications of the Dodd Frank Act and the European Market Infrastructure Regulation. The firm’s attorneys are recognised as experts in derivatives negotiations, specifically regarding ISDA agreements, global master repurchase agreements (GMRA) and contracts for derivatives on the local market.
