Alternative Investment Market:
Represent companies from a broad range of sectors on transactions from initial public offerings to secondary fund-raisings. The team are experts in advising on takeover events and applicable rules and regulations.

Capital Markets:
Represents investment banks, public companies, financial sponsors, investors and other market participants across industry sectors on cross border equity and debt securities offerings and corporate governance and compliance matters in Europe, the Americas and the Middle East.

Construction Projects:
Vast experience in representing owners, developers and lenders in drafting and negotiating construction-related agreements for their global projects.

Employment & Benefits:
The team advises on all employment issues from recruitment to severance.

Energy & Natural Resources:
With decades of experience, the energy team advises in oil, gas, power and mining industries, with expertise in monetising remote natural gas reserves through the development of LNG, petrochemical and gas-to-liquids projects. The firm is experienced throughout the entire LNG value chain, including state and federal regulation, development, commercial contracting, financing and construction.

Finance & Restructuring:
Represents borrowers and lenders in acquisition financing, asset-based financing, leveraged financing (mezzanine and high-yield debt), leveraged leasing, project financing, property financing and syndicated lending. Experienced in advising on distressed assets, bankruptcy/ insolvency and related litigation.

Financial Services:
The London office has experts from a range of practices within the firm who are specialists in advising clients within the financial services sector from high value, sophisticated transactions through to complex legislative, regulatory and industry issues.

International Arbitration & Litigation:
Highly experienced in handling cases before major arbitral institutions such as the ICSID, ICC, LCIA and AAA, as well as under UNCITRAL and other ad hoc rules. The litigation team has wide-ranging experience and expertise in all areas of UK court litigation as well as in alternate dispute resolution, corporate governance, general contract and risk management advice and investigations. The team has two Queen’s Counsel who appear regularly in the High Court and the appellate courts on commercial matters.

International Trade & WTO:
Handles a wide range of international trade and customs matters for UK/EU and US clients.

Middle East & Islamic Finance:
Advises on Shari’ah-compliant financings and investment products.

Mergers & Acquisitions/Joint Ventures:
Advises organisations in a range of transactions, including acquisitions of public and private companies, tender offers, public takeovers, joint ventures, purchases and sales of divisions and takeover preparation and defence.

Private Equity & Investment Fund Formation:
Advises clients in fund formation and in the structuring, negotiation and execution of acquisitions and venture capital financings, also working to provide advice throughout investments’ life cycle.

Project Finance:
Vast experience in resource procurement, marketing and transportation, construction contracting, terminal use agreements and joint venture structuring.

Real Estate/Real Estate Finance:
The team provides advice with respect to the complete range of commercial real estate transactions the world over. The firm has earned an international reputation for creative structuring of clients’ transactions, from property acquisitions and development to mergers and acquisitions and complex equity and debt financing.

Tax:
Advises on a range of UK and US tax issues with particular expertise in working with clients on planning and executing business transactions of various types and sizes arising in cross border settings including acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, fund formations, Shari’ah compliant transactions, tax financings, leasing, structure financing, returns to stakeholders and employee benefits.
