Practice Areas

Yvonne is a Partner in our specialist Construction and Engineering, and Energy and Infrastructure practice groups.

She is qualified as an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore. Yvonne is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), and an associate mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre.

Yvonne currently sits on the Construction Adjudicator Accreditation Committee of the Singapore Mediation Centre, which assists with the training, selection and accreditation of adjudicators.

With extensive experience in advising international, regional and local clients on construction-related disputes, Yvonne routinely assists her clients on a wide range of issues, such as variations, extensions of time and associated costs claims, liquidated damages, termination, and most recently regarding COVID-related issues. She also assists with the review, drafting and negotiation of construction contracts, and tenders for construction, infrastructure and real estate projects.

Yvonne is involved in projects located in Singapore, Asia and the Middle East. In particular, she has experience on airport projects in various Middle Eastern countries as well as Singapore.

Yvonne also sits as arbitrator on construction arbitrations, and has been appointed as arbitrator on SIAC-administered as well as ad hoc arbitrations. She also conducted a training session for arbitrator candidates at the National Commercial Arbitration Centre, Cambodia.

She also speaks regularly at construction industry events, and contributes articles and chapters to various publications, including the FIDIC Contracts in Asia Pacific: A Practical Guide to Application and the construction law blog at www.constructionlaw.sg.

In 2021, Yvonne was recognised by Asian Legal Business as one of Asia’s Super 50 Disputes Lawyers, and named a Rising Star in Construction by The Legal 500 (Legalese) Asia-Pacific 2021. Yvonne was named Next Generation Partner in Construction by The Legal 500 (Legalese) Asia-Pacific 2022 and 2023. Most recently, Yvonne has been ranked Up and Coming Lawyer in Construction by Chambers Asia-Pacific 2023.
